Activation
Youthtown
Youthtown is an Auckland-based not-for-profit organisation that helps young people express themselves, develop skills and build self esteem, in safe, open and stimulating environments. Programmes will be delivered from a range of existing local facilities.Youthtown is to recruit a fulltime local staff member to work alongside the Activation team. They will spend a brief period training with the organisations team in Auckland.
Activation employs a Youthtown Development Officer to work within the Activation team. The Youthtown Development Officer works with schools, facilities, community groups and clubs to develop, implement and coordinate Youthtown programmes as adapted for the Upper Hutt market. The position also works towards the outcomes contained in the Upper Hutt Active Recreation Plan (UHARP).
The primary outcome of UHARP is to achieve the increased participation of members of the Upper Hutt community in a wide range of recreational activities, to support Upper Hutt’s outcome of becoming a “healthy and safe” city.
The key to the success of this role is to develop, facilitate and promote a range of opportunities and programmes that fit within the Youthtown brand.
Youthtown Holiday Programme
The Youthtown Upper Hutt School Holiday Programme caters for children aged 7-13 at the activities centre at Maidstone Park Pavillion, Park Rd, Upper Hutt. The programme provides high quality OSCAR School Holiday Programmes with experienced staff and a staff/child ratio of 1:10 (1:8 ratios for daytrips and 1:6 swimming).

Youthtown After School Programme
The After School programme is designed to provide the children who participate with a range of physical, social and creative experiences. The objective of the programme planning is to provide children with real choices, ensuring the programme is continually evolving and innovative.
The programme caters for children aged 7-13 at the activities centre, Maidstone Pavilion, Park Rd, Upper Hutt - providing high quality, OSCAR After School Programmes with experienced staff and a staff/child ratio of 1:10 (1:8 ratio for daytrips and 1:6 swimming).
The programme operates Monday to Friday: 3pm-6pm (excluding public holidays).
The programme caters for children aged 7-13 at the activities centre, Maidstone Pavilion, Park Rd, Upper Hutt - providing high quality, OSCAR After School Programmes with experienced staff and a staff/child ratio of 1:10 (1:8 ratio for daytrips and 1:6 swimming).
